The weld metal of this electrode type, which corresponds to type 0.5Mo, has a microstructure of acicular ferrite and bainite. Thanks to its advantageous mechanical properties, it is suitable for use both in the as-welded condition and after heat treatment. This electrode is used in a wide range of welding applications, from joining similar heat-resistant steels and cast steel to joining high-strength structural, fine-grained and pipeline steels. The welding rod is particularly well suited for welding workpieces with wall thicknesses of up to 30 mm and for root-pass welding. Böhler FOX DMO Ti is approved for long-term use at temperatures of up to 550°C.
