It was developed specifically for Ti- and Nb-stabilized CrNi steels such as 1.4541 \/ 321 and 1.4546 \/ 347. This electrode is characterized by particularly good welding properties in both DC and AC applications. It offers high hot-crack resistance of the weld metal and produces clean beads. The slag is self-releasing, which minimizes rework. The corrosion resistance corresponds to that of 316Ti alloys, and the electrode shows good resistance to pitting. Generally, no heat treatment is required. However, Böhler FOX SAS 2-A can be used for cladding where stress-relief annealing at approximately 590ºC is normally necessary. Such heat treatment can reduce ductility at room temperature. In these cases, Böhler FOX E 347 H may be an alternative.
