Lincoln Electric Kryo® 1 Stick Electrode – low-alloy basic electrode for cryogenic applications
The Kryo® 1 from Lincoln Electric is a low-alloy, basic stick electrode for demanding welding work on steel structures where high mechanical quality values and very good notch impact toughness are required, even at low temperatures. It is particularly suitable for applications where the weld metal must remain reliably resilient even under cold stress.
Due to its excellent mechanical properties, very low hydrogen content, and suitability for both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC), the Kryo® 1 is a high-performance electrode for professional use in steel construction, plant engineering, tank construction, the offshore sector, and other safety-relevant applications.
Properties
The Kryo® 1 impresses with very good mechanical properties with high toughness down to -60 °C. In addition, it offers good CTOD properties down to -10 °C and an extremely low hydrogen content. The recovery rate is approx. 110–120 %, which allows for economical processing.
The electrode can be used with both AC and DC and is suitable for all welding positions, with the exception of vertical down.
