Böhler Diamondspark 52 MC flux-cored wire

Böhler Diamondspark 52 MC flux-cored wire – seamless, unalloyed metal-cored wire electrode from voestalpine Böhler Welding for semi-automatic and fully automatic joining of unalloyed steels and fine-grained structural steels.

The seamless production technology ensures high wire stiffness with precise arc striking and positioning accuracy. Deposition efficiency 95–97%. Uniform droplet transfer in spray arc with minimal spatter formation, good penetration, high resistance to porosity, and low hydrogen content (approx. 2 ml/100 g weld metal). Minimal oxide residues allow for multi-pass welding without intermediate cleaning. Ideal for horizontal and flat fillet welds.

Shielding gases: M20, M21 (Ar + 5–25% CO2) according to EN ISO 14175; current type DC+.

Base materials: Steels with a yield strength of up to 460 MPa, including S235JR–S355JR, S235J0–S355J0, S450J0, S235J2–S355J2, S275N–S460N, S275M–S460M, P235GH–P355GH, P275NL1–P460NL1, as well as shipbuilding steels A, B, D, E, A 32–E 36.

Mechanical properties of weld metal (typical values, as-welded condition):
Rp0.2 approx. 490 MPa (≥460 MPa), Rm approx. 600 MPa (550–660 MPa), A approx. 28% (≥22%), Charpy V-notch impact energy at −40 °C approx. 95 J (≥47 J) with shielding gas M21; with M20 at −46 °C approx. 70 J (≥27 J).
