Böhler FOXcore 70 MC flux-cored wire

Böhler FOXcore 70 MC flux-cored wire – unalloyed metal-cored wire electrode from voestalpine Böhler Welding for semi-automatic and fully automatic joint welding in all positions on unalloyed structural and fine-grained structural steels (operating temperature range -40 °C to +450 °C).

Quiet, spray-arc-like droplet transfer from as low as 200 A (1.2 mm) with low spatter formation, good penetration, and good resistance to porosity. Compared to solid wire, productivity is up to 20 % higher; low silicate island formation reduces the need for post-processing.

Shielding gases: M20, M21 (Ar + 5–25 % CO2) according to EN ISO 14175; current type DC+; suitable for standard and pulsed welding power sources.

Available wire diameters according to data sheet: 1.2 / 1.4 / 1.6 mm.

Base materials (selection): steels up to a yield strength of 460 MPa, including S235JR–S355J2, S275N–S460N, P235GH–P355GH, P295GH–P460NH, L245–L450, GE200–GE240 as well as shipbuilding steels A–E, AH 32–EH 40.

Mechanical properties of all-weld metal (typical values, as-welded): Re approx. 490 MPa (≥460 MPa), Rm approx. 580 MPa (550–660 MPa), A approx. 26 % (≥22 %), impact energy ISO-V approx. 90 J at −30 °C, approx. 70 J at −40 °C (≥47 J), approx. 55 J at −46 °C (≥27 J).
