Description:
The Böhler FOX DMO kb is a basic coated stick electrode. The weld metal of this electrode, which corresponds to the 0.5Mo type, features a microstructure of acicular ferrite and bainite. Due to its favorable mechanical properties, it is well-suited for use both in the as-welded condition and after heat treatment. This electrode is used in a wide range of welding applications, from joining similar heat-resistant steels and cast steels to joining high-strength structural, fine-grained, and pipeline steels. The Böhler FOX DMO kb is approved for long-term use at temperatures up to 550 ºC and demonstrates excellent notch toughness at temperatures below -50ºC.
The coating type, specifically matched to the electrode core, features low moisture absorption, which ensures a low content of diffusible hydrogen in the weld metal. Furthermore, the electrode achieves a weld metal recovery of 115%.

Special notes
The settings for preheating, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment should be adjusted according to the requirements of the base material used. As a general recommendation, preheating in the range of 100 to 250ºC can be used depending on the material thickness. Typical temperatures for post-weld heat treatment are in the range of 520-620ºC.
