The TENACITO 38R is a low-hydrogen stick electrode with a thick basic coating. The deposited weld metal has an alloy composition of approximately C-1.2 % Mn and 0.9 % Ni. It enables the production of particularly crack-resistant and tough welded joints.

The weld metal is characterized by high metallurgical purity and a very low hydrogen content. The double-layer coating (up to Ø 3.2 mm) creates a smooth, stable arc, making the electrode particularly suitable for welding in out-of-position positions.

For offshore applications, the weld metal is CTOD-tested. The electrode offers a uniform, directional arc and delivers very good mechanical properties, both in the as-welded condition and after stress-relieving.
