Description:
Corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant, and stable at high temperatures; remains tough at temperatures down to -269ºC. Ideal for joints between austenitic and ferritic materials. Even with heat treatments above 300ºC, no brittle chromium carbide zones form in the transition between ferrite and weld metal. Suitable for robust joints and claddings on heat-resistant chromium and chromium-nickel steels as well as nickel alloys. Temperature limits: 550ºC in sulfurous environments, maximum 900ºC for highly stressed joints. Resistant to oxidation up to 1000ºC. Optimal for dissimilar joints of stainless steel and nickel alloys with unalloyed steels. Can also be used as a buffer layer in demanding applications; the high nickel content reduces carbon diffusion from the unalloyed to the stainless steel. The structure is austenitic
Base Materials for UTP Thermanit Nicro 82
